The American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) recently went through strategic planning where we identified our mission and goals. Supporting these goals we created several councils with specific missions and we are looking for members to join the new councils to increase the representation of our members and help the ABS work towards being the leading authority in Brachytherapy standards, research, education, and training that benefit cancer patients and improve their quality of life. Each committee has its own mission and set of annual goals to help achieve this mission.
Encourage an inclusive ABS in all aspects of operations.
Work with industry, providers, and partners to advance BT and coordinate strategy/perspectives for legislative & Gov’t/Industry.
Expand support for advancing Brachytherapy techniques.
Elevate ABS as the Center of Excellence for US Brachytherapy.
Create national capacity and competency for Brachytherapy.
Create global integration and sharing of best practices and BT advances.
The term of service for ABS Committees begins each year at the annual meeting in June and lasts for 12 months. To serve on an ABS Council, you must be a member in good standing and you must maintain your membership status during your committee term.
