2018 HDR LDR Prostate Scholarship Workshop

Bending the Slope of the Brachytherapy Curve by Building a High Quality Program

Vision:

To increase patient access to high quality prostate brachytherapy

Goals:

  • To improve education and training of LDR/HDR Brachytherapy
  • To facilitate a more rapid transition from education to practice implementation
  • To ensure high quality brachytherapy delivery
  • To communicate the value of brachytherapy

The Program:

  • 2-Day Education and Simulator Training Workshop in LDR and HDR Brachytherapy
  • Scholarship stipend (up to $1200/team) - Travel, hotel, workshop
  • 30 teams of practicing Radiation Oncologists and Physicists will learn from up to 20 ABS international experts in LDR and HDR prostate brachytherapy in a small group workshop setting
  • Each team consists of one Radiation Oncologist and one Medical Physicist and/or Dosimetrist

Eligibility:

Applicants must be a current member of the ABS to qualify. More information on membership can be found at: http://www.americanbrachytherapy.org/join/

Application Deadline: All application materials (application, a brief statement of less than 200 words, and a CV) must be completed and submitted by midnight EST, September 7, 2018. Winners will be notified by the week of September 24th.
